Coach: Craig Sargent
2024 record: 7-19
New coach Craig Sargent is looking to build a winning attitude at a school that has won just two WCAL games since 2019 and hasn’t won a league crown since 1975.
It won’t happen overnight, he says, but so far, he likes what he’s seeing.
“It will take some time,” he said. “With that said, I really do like the guys on this team. … I think we can be sneaky this year. I love our pitching.”
He has some help. Handling the Crusaders’ pitching staff is Bob Sargent and former Giants pitcher Bill Laskey.
He also has one of the WCAL’s top newcomers in sophomore pitcher Santino Williams, who is already getting looks from several top-level NCAA programs.
The Crusaders struggled at the plate in 2024, but return seven players, which gives Sargent reason to believe in better outcomes this season.
Colten Parenti, Nathan Zuromski and Logan Tuman will get their share of mound work, while Jacob Dubriwny, Nathan Zuromski and Diego Aigular figure to fill out the infield. Chase Oliver will be in the outfield.
