Coach: Nate Sutton

2024 record: 13-14

Bellarmine graduated 15 lettermen from a year ago, but coach Nate Sutton likes his team’s chances because of a senior class that features a lot of togetherness.

“While not the most talented group we have had come through, they care about each other – and team success,” Sutton said.

Lefty Christian Duarte, a Santa Clara commit, had a 3.89 earned-run average a year ago, while Noah Liu strung together a 1.68 ERA.

Shortstop DJ Dunne returns completely healthy this season after playing with a torn labrum on his non-throwing arm in 2024. He had a .920 fielding percentage and stole seven bases, while Dash Knight will move between the corner infield and outfield after hitting .250 a year ago.

Centerfielder Evan Tavarez hit .321 with two homers and nine stolen bases last year.

Isaiah Beyah is a newcomer to watch after hitting .412 with 23 runs scored, 19 RBI and 14 stolen bases at the junior varsity level last year. Preston Pera and Drew McClelland are expected to have roles at the varsity level this year.

“We have a lot of good young players coming up,” Tavarez said. “I’m really excited about this season.”
