After an injury-riddled 2024 season, coach Ryan Hamilton thinks his Scots are ready to compete for a PAL Bay Division crown.
“We have strong pitching with depth and a balanced and very athletic lineup,” he said. “As long as we take care of the baseball defensively, we should have a very good year.”
Henry Massey and Jonathan Feng provide Carlmont with a strong one-two punch on the mound. Massey had a 2.47 earned-run average last year, while Feng won three games and posted a 3.53 ERA.
When Grant Goetz isn’t pitching, he’ll play first base. He hit .318 with five doubles last year. Infielder Jason Tofigh hit .270 with a homer, six doubles and 12 stolen bases last year, while outfielder Luke Tofigh hit .324.
Keep an eye on senior shortstop Pano Koutoulas, who looks to rebound from a down 2024 season. A solid summer and fall gives every indication he has turned the corner. He’s a heady ballplayer whose strength is working a count and getting on base.
