In the first month of a season that started low and has been on a steady incline, Terra Nova can now claim a signature win to its eight-game victory streak.
The Tigers rallied from four runs down to beat Mountain View, 11-8, on Saturday. They did so by scoring five runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to extend the Peninsula's second longest active winning streak – behind only Leigh's nine straight wins – to eight.
"The boys are having fun with it, too," said Terra Nova coach Jared Milch. "It's been such a pleasure watching them play with this confidence. I'm beyond proud of these guys."
The late-game dramatics were the work of catcher Joey Donati, who finished the game with three hits, including two doubles, and six RBI – four of them coming in the final two frames.
Jesse Martinez led off the sixth with a single. Austin Snead then walked. Following a strikeout, Luke Ornelas walked and Martinez scored on a wild pitch. Donati then doubled to score two more and cut Mountain View's lead to one, 8-7.
JT Snead was hit by a pitch and Brody Finale singled to load the bases. Isaac Roman tied the game with a base hit to right and the go-ahead run scored on an Evan Wilson sacrifice fly.
Terra Nova added two insurance runs in the seventh on Donati's two-run single that scored Austin Snead and Ornelas.
Ornelas pitched the final 3 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the victory. He allowed just one run.

Sacred Heart Cathedral 10, St. Mary’s 8, 10 innings
A week ago, the Irish were teetering after losing their fourth straight game. It's amazing how a shutout victory over Mitty on Friday and a 10th-inning victory a day later can change a team's psyche.
Rohan Kahns led off the top of the 10th with a single and Tommy Do followed with a home run that snapped an 8-8 tie and proved to be the game winner.
Kahns and TJ Hurley had three hits each for Sacred Heart, while Quinn Middleton had two hits.
