Coach: David Trujillo
2024 record: 23-10 (CCS Division VI championship)
Menlo School comes into every new year expecting to compete for a championship and – fresh off a CCS title and NorCal finals appearance – this year is no different.
However, if the Knights are to repeat, they are going to do so with a lot of new faces.
“We have an exciting young group of freshmen and sophomores who will compete for starting positions,” said coach David Trujillo.
It adds up to a team that might not have last year’s star power but has “much more depth in our pitching as well as our position players,” Trujillo said.
Ben Salama is the ace of the pitching staff after going 5-1 with 57 strikeouts and a 2.7 earned-run average in 61 innings of work. He also played outfield and hit .312 with 11 RBI.
Jackson Flanagan returns after going 4-2 with three saves and a 2.16 ERA.
Outfielder Renner Barnett hit .325 and was on base at a .407 clip in 224, while shortstop Jack Freehill scored 20 runs and had 14 RBI.
