Jackson Flanagan threw nine innings – the longest outing on the Peninsula this year – and blanked Sacred Heart Prep, holding them to four hits in a 1-0 victory over the Gators on Monday.
Flanagan threw 104 pitches and struck out three in outdueling Prep's Connor Schmalzle, who threw six one-hit innings for the Gators.
The Knights (4-6) scored the game's only run in the top of the ninth when Liam Widner led off the inning with a single. He was bunted to second by Renner Barnett, but had to stay at second when Zach Roeder's popup fell in for a base hit.
Ben Salama took care of that one hitter later by lining a single to right field that scored Widner with the walk-off hit.
They'll play again on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Prep.
