

Jack Molise struck out nine and allowed just one hit as Menlo-Atherton opened its Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division season with a convincing 10-0 win over nearby neighbor Sacred Heart Prep on Wednesday.
The victory improved the seventh-ranked Bears' record to 8-4, while the Gators fell to 5-6 and 1-2 in Bay Division action.
Menlo-Atherton got a big performance from junior second baseman Ryder Kelly, who pounded out two hits, including his first home run of the season, a three-run shot.
Catcher Jack Wilbanks had two hits, while Rohaan Cutright had a triple for the Bears. Masataka Shudo had a double and two RBI.
The two teams will play again Friday at Sacred Heart Prep.

Sequoia 5, Burlingame 2
With the game tied at 2, Sequoia scored three runs in the top of the seventh to open the PAL Bay Division with a victory.
Cameron Abrams drilled a double to score Drew Ostrander and Vince Olinger-Giani. Derek Hymer followed with a double to score Abrams.
That was all Morgan Winfield needed to close out the Panthers (5-4). The junior right hander went the distance allowing three hits and striking out six.
The two teams will finish their season series on Friday at Sequoia.

Carlmont 5, Carlmont 4
Jake Belloni left after five innings with a 4-1 lead and Hillsdale seemingly had the game in hand. And then Carlmont roughed up the Knights bullpen by scoring three in the sixth and the game-winning run in the seventh.
Pano Koutoulas led off the seventh with a single off Hugo Guzman. He was sacrificed to second by Tyler Webster and moved to third of Jason Tofigh's third base hit of the game.
Grant Goetz was intentionally walked to load the bases, and Henry Massey, who injured a shoulder earlier this month in a loss to Wilcox, singled him home to score Koutoulas with the winning run.
Hillsdale's Tommy Schultz and Guzman had a rough day, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings. Schultz faced five batters in the sixth and gave up four hits and a walk.
Goetz pitched the first five innings for Carlmont (5-4), scattering six hits and two walks while giving up two runs. Koutoulas pitched the final two innings to earn the victory.
Los Gatos 9, Los Altos 5
Lucas Carlisle had two doubles and drove in four runs as Los Gatos improved to 8-3 and recorded the win against a league rival.
Ethan Williams pitched four innings to pick up the victory. He allowed a run while striking out two.
Gavin Moore had two hits, including a home run for Los Altos (6-2).
