Craig Sargent's first season opener couldn't have gone better as Riordan traveled to Woodside and knocked off the defending Peninsula Athletic League Oceana Division champions in resounding fashion.

The Crusaders (1-0) pounded out 11 hits and handed Trent Amaroso his first high school defeat in two years.

Offensively, Riordan was paced by two home runs – one from Santino Williams and another from Chase Oliver. Each drove in three runs, while Kane Cook added four RBI.

Colton Parenti got the win for the Crusaders.

Bellarmine 4, Bear Creek 0

Three Bellarmine pitchers combined on a no-hitter in the season-opening victory. Christian Duarte went the first four innings, while Cael Stout and Emmet Armott closed out the performance.

Saint Francis 5, Leigh 4

The Lancers started the season in walk-off fashion by tallying a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Mateo Pignati's RBI single.

Jack Leeper, making his high school baseball debut, had three hits. The sophomore missed all of last season with a knee injury.

Landon King hit a solo home run to break a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning that was followed by a Pignati single that put Saint Francis ahead, 4-2.

Landon Kim went six innings, allowing two runs and struck out six.

The King's Academy 3, Prospect 2

The Knight's advanced to the winner's bracket of the Tamone Memorial tourney at MacDonald High in Santa Clara

Ethan Johnson's two out single in the fourth was followed by a Toby Trotter walk. A dropped Cyrus Sid flyball allowed Johnson to score and put The King's Academy in the lead for good.

Thomas Castro retired the first 12 before giving up three straight hits to start the fifth.

Burlingame 7, Design Tech 3

Burlingame benefitted from seven Design Tech fielding errors to open the season with a victory. The combination Rodrigo and Roberto Beltranena combined for five hits – three by Rodrigo – and an RBI.

Capuchino 7, El Camino 2

The Mustangs began defense of their CCS-Division V championship with a victory over the visiting Colts. Cap was paced by Declan Mendel, who had a double and two RBI. Lucas Zayac and Travis Ciardella also added doubles for the Mustangs.
