Terra Nova won its 11th straight game – a 10-3 team over a San Jose school called More – on Thursday, but the victory was less about extending the streak and more about staying sharp during a week away from PAL Ocean Division play.

Playing against a small school gave Jared Milch the opportunity to experiment with the pitching, while making sure to clear his bench.

The Tigers (11-2-1) had a 6-0 lead after two innings and cruised to the victory in a game played at Mission College.

Junior Joey Donati, ordinarily behind the plate, pitched the first two innings to pick up the win. Giovanni DeFilippis, Wes McDougal, Joe Nakamura, Austin Snead and Evan Wilson followed with an inning each.

Terra Nova scored four runs in the first. McDougal led off the game with a single. Luke Orlenas followed with a base hit and Donati doubled in Mc Dougal. A Brody Finale infield grounder brought in Ornelas and made it 2-0.

JT Snead drove in the third run when his infield grounder was booted, and Isaac Roman's ground out plated the fourth run.

The Tigers return to Ocean Division play on Tuesday when they begin a series with Menlo School that is suddenly shaping up as a big week for both teams. Menlo, which completed a sweep of El Camino on Thursday, is in second place, a game-behind Terra Nova.
