Terra Nova found the cure for the common slump on Tuesday. El Camino was the equivalent of two aspirin on Tuesday as the Tigers snapped a three-game skid with a 16-6 victory.
Tuesday's victory would have been even sweeter for Jared Milch's bunch had Mills found a way to come through with runners on first and third in the bottom of the seventh inning of a 1-1 game against Menlo School.
Instead, the Vikings came away empty and lost to the Knights in 11 innings, 2-1, which kept Menlo a game ahead of Terra Nova in the Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division.
The Tigers made sure there would be no hint of an upset on Tuesday by sending 12 batters to the plate in the first inning, collecting five hits and three walks, and scoring seven runs to take a commanding early lead.
Evan Wilson had a two-run double in the inning, while winning pitcher Aiden James and right fielder Luke Ornelas had RBI doubles in that first inning.
If there were any doubts, Terra Nova (12-5-1) put them to bed by scoring six runs in the third inning. In that frame, they collected six hits, including a two-run homer by catcher Joey Donati.
Isaac Roman, Brody Finale and Wilson paced the Tigers' 18-hit attack by collecting three hits each. James had two hits and drove in four runs, while Donati had two hits.
Ryan Bollentini and Jacob Smith drove in two runs each for El Camino.

Nate Lafon came away with a hard luck no decision after going seven innings and allowing just a home run to Jack Freehill to lead off the game. He allowed four hits and struck out six in his 99-pitch effort.
Menlo's Ben Salama lasted just one inning after walking the bases full in the first, but he escaped the jam unscathed. Reid Plamondon went the next seven innings and allowed just a run on four hits.
The Vikings forced extra innings by scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh. Giovanni Angelini legged out an infield hit to chase home Mills' lone run. Mills (5-9) missed out on an opportunity for a walk-off win.
